The Thrift Shoppe
The Thrift Shoppe News!
After almost 4 years of devotion to our Bazaar, Adela is taking a 6 month leave of absence. Adela has been a huge part of the success of our store and between her self, her daughter and 2 sisters we have been fortunate to have honest hardworking employees. Through that time, Rocio, Adela's daughter has learned a great deal about retailing and the income to her Mom paid for school. Lorena, her sister, will take her place full time and sister Suzanna will do the Saturday shift.
Our competition grows and grows. We are again in need of donations. Our clothing still comes in regularly but we are desperate for "things". It's almost unbelieveable what sells so instead of just putting it on the curb, call Lori 765 3147 or Pat 765 6914 and we will come and pick it up. Magazines and books are big sellers. Got some spices, canned goods, packaged foods not being used???....they sell very quickly. We'll take your consignments, too!
Winter clothing is about to hit the racks this coming week so before it's over, come on in and take advantage of our "Fill a bag for 30 pesos" Sale. Then, check out of winter stock!!! We'll soon put out our Christmas stock, too.
El Bazar de Los Niños (The Thrift Shop) is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. It is located in Riberas del Pilar at Hidalgo 95-B (on the north side of the Carretera, a half-block east of Chicken Little). The cross street is San Mateo.
The Bazar offers donated items such as clothing, household goods, books and more, to the Lakeside Community. We also take consignments! The benefits are twofold – the Mexican and foreign community can purchase items at very low cost and the proceeds help support local Mexican children with educational scholarships.
Lori Skoda is the Bazar Coordinator. She can be reached at 765-3147.
NCA’s Auxiliary helps raise funds to help cover administration costs and to help support enrichment activities for the students and their families.
Numerous types of volunteer help is needed: teaching English, planning events, ticket and coupon book sales, buying gifts for children.
NCA extends our appreciation to the following organizations for working hand-in- hand with us to provide ongoing support for our students:
